A Trip to Katie & Greg’s House

We went to Katie & Greg’s house for the long weekend. It was to be a relaxing weekend for Luci and a car hunting one for me. :-)

I can report that the weekend was successful – Luci had a relaxing weekend and I found a car. Also, the boys got to see Katie & Greg’s Sydney house and their “secret garden”, we went to the Sydney Aquarium (and found Thomas St along the way – much to Thomas’ delight!!), went out for lunches and dinners, played the Nintendo Wii, watched Wall-E at the movies. Oh, and I got to go to the Apple Store.  :-)

We had a great few days with Katie & Greg. Hope you enjoy the photos, don’t forget you can click on them to see them at a larger size in a fancy lightbox window.

Oh, and here’s some photos of the new Tarago – I’ll take some nicer ones later on for you all to see.

Zoo visit

We went to the zoo today with Gran E and Grandpa.

Thomas’ Swimming Lessons

Thomas participated in swimming lessons again this year. This year he was in the Frog class. He had nine lessons. He did well and enjoyed the lessons.

And of major importance, the lollipop that comes with the certificate at the end of the lessons.

Cooking with Gran E

The boys enjoy doing a bit of cooking – here they are cooking up some paty cakes with Gran E – Thomas does the mixing and enjoys one beater, while Lachlan has it pretty easy by just getting the beater to lick off at the end :-)

Holiday Time – what else to do??

Here are some of the other things we got up to while we were on holidays.

We enjoyed breakky cooked on the BBQ, and Grandpa and Lachlan did a good job making sure the esky was kept stocked.

Thomas enjoyed going around to the swings. He made a new friend, and Boyd came along for a swing also.

Of course, there’s always the walk down to the shops, or in this case, the pub. A good hard walk up a hill means you’ve earned the beer when you get to the pub! :-)

And while you’re enjoying the beer, admire the sunset at the pub.

Thomas got a new bike for Christmas, so he enjoyed having the occasional ride around the camp park.

We ate lunch out on some days. Here we are at the Moorings Restaurant (with bowls almost as big as the children :-D )

Or the boys could have a ride on the carousel after doing a spot of shopping.

There’s also the enjoyment of watching what’s going past out the window.

The boys also enjoyed having a wrestle on the floor of the cabin. Don’t worry, Lachlan gave as good as he got. :-)

We really enjoyed our holidays.

Holiday Time – a spot of fishing

We did enjoy a spot of fishing whilst on holidays at Harrington. We weren’t hugely successful, but had a good time anyway.

Holiday Time @ the Beach

We had lots of fun at the beach (Northside Crowdy Head Beach). This was the first time the boys had ever been to the beach (and it had been a while for Luci and I too :-) ). These photos were taken over two days.

Hope you like them….

After a morning swim, it was nice to get back to the cabin and have some morning tea. The boys enjoyed a cake on this morning.

Then after morning tea, we’d need a bath (in the bottom of the shower :-D ) to get rid of all that sand.

Sometimes though, the swim was just too tiring for some of us (I am awake under those sunglasses, by the way :-) ). Lachlan had a little snooze on me while Luci got the bath ready.

After the bath, we popped him in the cot, and a short while later this is what he looked like.

Holiday Time

Ahhhh, time to head off to holidays. We’re heading to Harrington. But first we stop off at Newcastle for a rest.

It’s Christmas Day

It’s so exciting – Christmas Day :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Lachlan started the day off nice and early, and enjoyed waking Thomas up :-)

Thomas, still looking a bit sleepy, went and checked the table to see if Santa and his reindeers had been.

The lemonade had been drunk (Thomas was adamant that Santa would want a lemonade, despite my best efforts at encouraging him to leave a beer out :-) ), the fruit cake eaten, and the reindeers had eaten most of the carrot. Satisfied, we went to check out the Christmas Tree.

Santa most definitely had been – there were some presents here now that weren’t here last night.

Then we set about opening them. What fun!!!

And Lachlan looks on also, curious to see what everyone else was getting…

Then, a little while later we went outside so the boys could have their first ride.

But, that wasn’t the end. Then we went to Luci’s Nan’s church for morning service, around to Luci’s Nan’s place for some breakfast and more present giving. Then off to Luci’s Grandma’s, then around to Wendy & Peter’s for lunch. Back to Lyn & Tony’s for a short nap, before the Christmas Night Party. We were very tired.
